ANGE

OUTDOOR LEARNING MENTOR

ABOUT ME

My name is Ange and I’m an outdoor learning mentor.

I enjoy finding faces and shapes on the forest floor, sky & trees and look for nature’s treasures like, feathers, sunsets, acorns, fungi and spider webs covered in morning dew. I would love to see and share your forest treasures too.

I love colour, playing around with felt and paper art, cold water swimming, Darth Vader and sloths.

I like observing everything in the forest including people, this is how I learn so if you see me quietly staring it’s because you’re doing something that interests me, I’m learning about you or waiting to see if you invite me into your play.  Sometimes I get really nervous about meeting
you and worry if you will like me so I might seem a bit shy at first.

I have sensory difficulties especially sound, I find it very distracting, overwhelming and it makes my heart beat fast.

That’s why I love being outside, I feel calmer and things don’t seem as loud. My brain is always busy thinking about things, it’s exciting because I have lots of ideas but sometimes it’s annoying because the thoughts disappear very quickly and I can’t keep up.

My favourite part about forest school is the fire, it keeps us warm, gives us light and feeds us. It feels like the heart of the forest school family.
