SEN FOREST SCHOOL LEAD
ABOUT ME
My name is Eleanor and I am a Forest School Leader.
I love to be out wondering in nature, swimming in the sea, climbing things like rocks and trees and foraging.
I enjoy sharing the woods with other people and helping them to find their way to feeling good.
In the woods I like to forage and cook, climb and explore, get messy, safely use tools and fire and create art. I also like sitting quietly together, maybe sitting by the fire and enjoying the sights and sounds around us.
I don’t like being in loud places, being too busy, sudden loud noises or bright lights. The dappled shade of a forest and smell of the earth is a very calm soothing place for me to be, and I am very happy here.
I speak with normal speech and love using basic Makaton and am keen to learn more. I also use facial expression and gesture. If you have a certain way to communicate e.g. PECS or Objects of Reference I’d love you to share this with me.
I am quite a sensitive person – to light, sounds, experiences and emotions as well. Sometimes this can be overwhelming but being very empathetic helps me to connect with people.I like quiet voices rather than shouting and I need to make sure I find time to rest and shut down for a while – rather than be busy all the time as I get overwhelmed. My mind can be very busy! This can be a good thing as well as I love creating, finding solutions to problems and new ideas.
